POINT CHEVALIER CLUB
A SUCCESSFUL SEASON The Point Chevalier Sailing Club has enjoyed a very successful season in both the sporting and business sides of its activities, according to the annual report to be presented to the annual meeting this evening. In addition to the usual racing fixtures, a regatta was held in which all events were keenly contested. The 22-footer Lucille brought the club honour by winning the Lipton Cup. As the result of negotiations between the club and the Auckland City Council, a fine road gave access to the clubhouse. This not only gave a con venient entrance, but also greatly increased the value of the club property. The balance sheet shows a total income for the season of £264, and the expenditure £l5O, leaving a credit of £64 after paying £SO off the clubliouse mortgage. The assets are valued at £1,689, and the liabilities on the clubhouse £762. The financial mainstay of the club had been the weekly euchre tournaments and dances. Nominations for all officers and the committee close this evening.
