TRAFFIC COPS ON THE WARPATH

CARS PARKED IN DOMAIN When the Canadian Soccer team played the third test at Carlaw Park a few weeks ago the city traffic cops were on the warpath in the Domain. Making an attack along the drive fringing the park, they managed to catch 34 cars parked there, in contravention of the city by-laws. This offence cost the following motorists 10s each and costs at the Magistrate’s Court this morning:Jas. Robinson, Daniel Bridsor, Arthur Grey, Wallace Metcalfe, Pas. Paul, John Preston, Arthur Newdick, George Preston, Alfred Rush, Thomas Tong, Cyril Turton, James Wilson, Jack Wilson, Charles Bagrove, Athol Coleman, P Clapham, Harry Fuller, E. Flyger, Andrew Henderson, Robert Jackson, George Levick, J. Moodable, William Outtrim, H. Piggott, Janies Pickett, P. Power, Charles Qulntall, E. Sutherland, J. Stone. E. Tomlinson. F. Tucker, I. J. Turner, R. Wilkinson, and William. Whyte. For leaving cars unattended. Euan Fong Wong and Francis North were each fined 10s and costs. Failure to obey a traffic officer cost Arthur E. Coe and Theodore Montgomery <£l and costs. A fine of £5 on each of two charges was inflicted on Ambrose J. Lewis for owning an unlicensed taxicab. Hugh Glover was fined 20s and costs for overcharging a taxi fare. FURTHER PENALTIES For motor traffic breaches the following offenders were penalised by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., with costs in each case:— Pillion riding: R. Ritchie and H. MeTavish were each fined 10s. Negligent driving: W. Peat.e was fined £2, Rosa May Wilkin £2, and L. F. Arthur £2. G. Dignan was fined £1 for negligent driving and £ 2 for failing to give right of way. _ For failing to notify change of ownership, G. Edwards was fined £3. i For passing a stationary tram, A. J.
