SCHOLAR GOES ABROAD
BRILLIANT VARSITY CAREER A prominent chemist, Mr. George Maxwell Richardson, a son of Mr. H. H. Richardson, inspector of schools, Auckland, leaves for England to-mor-row to begin research work at London University. He is the present holder of the 1851 Exhibition Research Scholarship, the latest honour of a brilliant varsity career. Born in Wanganui in 1905, he attended the Feilding District High School and the Wanganui Technical College, winning junior and senior national scholarships. In 1921 he went to Victoria University College, and won the Sir George Grey Scholarship in 1924 and 1925. His B.Sc. was passed in 1925. and his M.Sc. with first-class honours in chemistry this year. Last vear he was selected as senior university scholar. Mr. Henry L. Richardson, another son, who won the Imperial Science Scholarship in 1926, and is a doctor of philosophy, is studying in England.
