Evans left Auckland today for To Kuiti, to make a short stay there as the guest of Mrs. Harrison before returning to her home at Martinborough, Wairarapa. Mr. and Mrs. David C. Wright, accompanied by Mrs. Clifford Wright and Miss Isobel Smallbone, have left town by motor for a visit to Wellington and the South. # Miss Ethel Hammond is on a visit to Auckland from Hamilton. Mrs. Ralph Worley is the guest of Mrs. Rupert Worley in Hamilton. Mrs. G. Macintosh has taken up her residence in Lochiel Road, Remuera. Mrs. W. H. Jacob, of Iviwitea, Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. D. Lundon, of Cambridge, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Poole, Mount Eden. Mrs. H. Biggs is an Auckland, visitor to Hamilton, and is the guest of Mrs. A. Beale. Mrs. T. Brown, of Dunedin, has returned from North Auckland, and is staying at Braeburn. Miss Alice Taylor, who has been visiting friends in Wanganui, has returned to her home in Te Awamutu. Miss Joan Laudels, of Hastings, is on a visit to Auckland, and is staying with Mrs. Pike, Ridings Road. Mrs. Robert McCracken, of Ellerslie, with her family, is the guest of Mrs. Mcßoberts, Maraetai, for the school vacation. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Carter, of Waitoa, are at the Central Hotel. Guests staying at the Grand Hotel include Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Cauldwell, of Cambridge. Miss B. Brewer, of Te Kuiti, is at the Hotel Cargen. Visitors to Auckland from the South include Mr. and Mrs. S. Langevcldt, of Christchurch. They are at the Central Hotel. * * * Mrs. B. McLean Smith is staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. and Mrs. I. Galpin and the Misses Galpin, of Marton, are at the Royal Hotel. At the Commercial Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. G. Ryan, of Te Awamutu. Mr. and Mrs. Stall worthy arrived from the South by the Limited this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Jones left for the South by the Limited last evening. A BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. George Walker gave a delightful children's party on Saturday afternoon at her residence in Roslyn Avenue, Remuera, in honour of her daughter Peggy’s seventh birthday. The party commenced at 4 o’clock, and as the throngs of happy little kiddies arrived to add their good Wishes to the host of delightful ones that had already been bestowed on Peggy, they were greeted In the entrance hall by two huge and weird pumpkin men. Standing more than seven feet high, the funny Pumpkin laddies grinned a happy welcome at the children, and looked as though they too, even if they were only paper men, and not really alive, were going to enjoy the party tremendously. Despite the bad weather the! ! visitors had a good run through Bro j i Oliphant was in the chair, supported 1 by Bro. Pres. Reece, of the Te Awa- : mutu Club, and Bro. Pres. Boles, of Birkenhead and Northcote. A good programme of orchestral, choral, vocal, and elocutionary items was highly appreciated. The visiting ! club were called upon to produce some I talent, and responded willingly. Bro. D. Lawson grave Kipling’s “If,” and a flute solo was rendered by Bro. Kandadine. Bros. Webb. Lee, and Harris obliged with an instrumental trio, and Bro. R. Johnston contributed his bit, "Laska.’ On behalf of the Birkenhead and Northcote orphans, Bro. Pres. Boles made a presentation to Bro. Hodgson of a past president’s badge. Bro. Hodgson is now with the Te Awamutu Club. The evening closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the original songs of both clubs. Birkenhead and Northcote Orphans returned to Auckland late on Sunday afternoon.
