TE AWAMUTU ELECTRICITY
INCREASED BUSINESS Mr. J. T. Johnson presided at the monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board on Friday. There were also in attendance Messrs. J. G. Sutherland, G. Spinley, S. C. Macky, J. C. Montefiore and N. M. Lethbridge. The Wellington office of the A.M.P. Society forwarded a cheque for £3,000, being the first instalment under the £6,C00 loan. The power board account was shown as £6,913 19s 8d debit, and the loan account £3,185 17s in credit, with accounts presented totalling £3,218 11s 3d. Revenue earned from sale of current during June was: General lighting, heating and meter rents, £856 17s 6d; power, £399 10s 7d; penalties and sundries, £3O 4s 4d, and approximate street lighting, £36; total, £1,322 12s sd. For June, 1926, the revenue was £1,209 12s sd. The consumers finance account was shown as owing the general fund about £I,OOO, but it was not proposed to transfer this amount just now. The executive recommended that the bank overdraft limit be fixed at £12.000. The legal limit was £17,000.
