BOY BURGLARS AGAIN

ESCAPADES AT DUNEDIN THEFTS AND MISCHIEF Press Association. DUNEDIN, Sunday. The two boy burglars who on Wednesday evening escaped from the probation home, where they had been placed after breaking into business premises in Dunedin, continued their career of crime at once. The value of the goods they have stolen now amounts to well over £IOO, and the cost of repair- • ing the damage they have done is also considerable. After escaping from the institution in their night attire, the boys went to a quarry at Anderson’s Bay, where they procured some old clothing. They next stole a small leather suitcase and four tins of sweets. These they took to a railway van in the goods yard. After sampling the contents of the tins they destroyed a first-aid outfit and otherwise damaged the van, in which they spent the night. On Thursday afternoon the lads entered the Early Settlers Hall by breaking the windows, and left with food and a spirit lamp. This venture was followed by their entry into the Otago Rowing Club’s shed, from which they took a punchball, boxing gloves and a briefbag. After storing the results of their raids in the railway van they entered the premises of Messrs. A. and T. Inglis, where they were discovered and recaptured. The boys have been placed in a probation home, pending their appearance in the Children’s Court*
