RAIN AT WELLINGTON
PETONE FLOODED (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. Owing to the heavy rain on Friday, the area surrounding the new Aro Street railway station at Petone is flooded. The new hill drainage scheme interfered with the storm water outfall, hence the flooding. The rain was accompanied by cold wind. The s.s. Alexander is reported to be sheltering at Picton, but other shipping has not been interfered with. The Maheno sailed for Sydney at 12.33.
