Ranfurly Shield Appeal Dismissed
HAWKE’S BAY FAILS Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. THE New Zealand Rugby Union has received word from Auckland that the Appeal Council has unanimously dismissed Hawke's Bay's appeal in the Ranfurly Shield dispute.
THE position presumably now is A that Manwhenua will be declared the holders of the Shield, this union having defeated Wairarapa in a con-
ditional Shield match; Wairarapa having previously defeated Hawke's Bay in the match over which the present dispute arose.
