Rickerby, traffic manager, Auckland railways, returned to-day from a business trip to the Waikato. Mr. J- J- Kearney, Assistant-Post-master, is acting as Chief-Postmaster during the absence on holiday of Mr. j. Gow. Professor G. H. Blakeslee, of Clark University, Massachusetts, left by train for Wellington last evening. Engineer-Commander R. Jones and Surgeon-Commander A. H. Joy, of H M.S. Diomede, are staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. Fred. W. Slater arrived in Auckland to-day from Wanganui to officiate as adjudicator in the vocal section at the competitions.
