OFFICE OF SECRETARY EIGHTY-SEVEN APPLICANTS APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK The invitation of the Auckland Trotting Club for applications to fill the secretaryship vacancy at a salary of £ 500 per annum has been responded to from all parts of the Dominion. Eighty-seven applications were filed, and these will be duly considered at a special meeting of the committee next Tuesday, when the appointment of a successor to the late Mr. C. F. Mark, who occupied the office since the inception of the club 37 years ago, will be made. Mr. H. Sherwin. who has been carrying on the duties in the interim, is not an aspirant for the position.
