AMERICAN AMBULANCE At tho monthly meeting of the Tauniarunui Hospital Board permission ''as received from George and Elizabeth Mattock, of Castlecliff, for the removal of their son’s grave from the hospital reserve at Ohura to the Ohura temetery. It was decided to accept the offer oc Messrs Phillips, Impey and Co. of a hospital tablet at a cost of £2l. The board resolved, to pay a claim o" £7 to Miss Harwood as compensation for the time she was off duty, hi connection with this matter, it was agreed to try and recover the amount i ’om the insurance company. A letter was received from the I'irector-General of Health, asking the ooard to consider the purchase of a British chassis in preference to an jUnerican, for the new motor ambulance, as it was possible the Minister would not remit the duty on the Amercan machine, and would do so on »ne British. The board considered me matter i n the c f i ts former decision, and as it was considered that me American make was more suitable *or the requirements of the district bis should be purchased, and the uinister asked to remit the duty. •
