The Director of Postal Services, Mr. Brown, was interviewed regarding the recent cablegram from London dealing with the disabilities of the beam system. He said fading must always be taken into account. As far as the Commonwealth Government was concerned the beam service was fulfilling the terms of the agreement. It was handling the traffic the Commonwealth Government gave it with the exception of a little which it sent over the cables at night.—A. and N.Z.
