COUNCIL OF WOMEN At the August meeting of the Hamilton Branch of the National Council of Women of New Zealand there was a good attendance of representatives and honorary members. The president. Mrs. H. Valder, was in the chair. Following upon the ordinary business, the discussion of a remit from the Howard League forwarded by the Dunedin branch took place. A copy of Mr. P. Fraser’s Bill. Judicial* Proceedings (regulation of reports) to prevent the publication of details injurious to public morals, was read and discussed, the Branch deciding to support this. Resolutions sent forward by the Dominion president to the Ministers of Education and Justice respectively concerning an amendment of Clause 22 of the Child Welfare Bill were endorsed by the branch. The hon. secretary reported on the success of the bridge evening inaugurated to raise funds. The branch hopes to entertain the president of the Christchurch branch of the N.C.W. during the coming month
