MACKENZIE—GOULD

A charming wedding of interest to many Northern folk was solemnised at St. John’s Church, Farlding, last week by the Rev. Canon Petrie, when Miss Vera Gould, of Te Awamutu, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gould, of Feilding, was married to Mr. William Mackenzie, of Te Awamutu, son of the . late Mr. and Mrs. W. Mackenzie, of Dunedin. The bride wore an attractive gown of white georgette with panels of metal lace and a beautifully embroidered veil of tulle- caught with a wreath of oransre blossoms. Miss Olive Gould, a sister of the bride, attended her, wearing a pretty frock of rose georgette with a skirt of i- se and silver lace and a matching hat trimmed with ribbon velvet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. M. Gould, of Marton. as best man. After the c mony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs. John Graham, where the bride and groom were the recipients of many good wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Mackenzie left later for a motor tour of the North Island. PATTERSON—BINDGN St. Matthew’s Church was the scene 2 f * Pretty wedding recently, when Kona the youngest daughter of Mr and Mr. J. C. Bindon, of Morningside became the bride of Robert, the only son ot Captain and Mrs. W. R. Patterson of Whangarei. 1 hemarriage was solemnised by the Rev. A beautiful veil of Brussels lace formed the train, being held in place by a pretty coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Miss Rosie Patterson, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bride, also Miss Gertie Curran, the former wearing a powder blue brocaded satin frock trimmed with silver lace. Miss Curran was attired in a shell pink taffeta frock, with overdress of georgette, relieved with silver lace trimmings. Both wore head dresses of silver leaves and tulle, and were carrying bouquets to tone with their dresses. Acting as train-bearers were little Miss Esme Simpson, a niece of the bride, looking very charming in a mauve crepe de chine frock, with cyclamen and mauve trimmings, and bonnet to match, and Billie Bindon, a cousin, dressed in a suit of mauve satin. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Hollows, of Whangarei, and Mr. Keith Waters was groomsman.

WEST—HARRIS An interesting- wedding was solemnised at St. Bride’s Anglican Church, Otorohanga, on Monday, the Rev. T. Phillips officiating. The groom and bride were Mr. F. West, of Otorohanga, and Phoebe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harris, old residents of the town. The bride wore a smart French grey costume. Miss Mary Harris attended as bridesmaid. Mr. M. Harris carried out the duties of best man. The wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bridegroom’s parents in Kakemutu Road, after which the young couple left by train for Auckland on their honeymoon.
