Mrs. B. B. Wood left yesterday for a visit to Rotorua before returning to her home in Christchurch. * *■ * Mr. and Mrs. John Casey leave this evening for Wellington. Mrs. Gerald B. White is a visitor to Auckland from North Auckland. * * * Mrs. E. B. Fraser left by the Aorangi for a holiday in Sydney. Miss Mollie Hunt, of Auckland, is staying with her sister. Mrs. Sutherland, Kelburn, Wellington. Mrs. James Hay and Mrs. Turner, who have been spending the winter in Auckland at the Hotel Cargen, leave by motor to-day on their return to Christchurch. Mrs. B. C. Haggitt. of Dunedin, who has been staying at the Hotel Cargen, left to-day for the South. * * * Mrs. Fraser has returned to Wellington. after spending a holiday in Auckland. RECENT WEDDINGS PEIRSON—KERBY A pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Peter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, recently between Ada, youngest daughter of Mrs. J. Holden and the late Mr. Charles Kerby, of Thames, and Horace, second son of the late Dr. Lennox Peirson. London. Rev. Warding officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her step-father, looked charming in a pretty frock of pale pink brocaded crepe de chine. Her tulle veil was daintily arranged under a wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried an exquisite bouquet of white and pink flowers. Miss Edna Rohrlach, cousin of the bride, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of mauve crepe de chine, trimmed with pink. Mr. P. Plill attended as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to the home of the bride s parents for the wedding breakfast, Mrs. Holden receiving her guests in a pretty gown of plum-coloured repp, trimmed with fawn. Later the happy couple left amidst showers of confetti and good wishes for the North, where the honeymoon was spent. LANGMUIR—MOONEY A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Hamilton at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary on Wednesday, when Miss Susie Mooney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mooney, of Plamilton, was married to Mr. Clive James Langmuir, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Langmuir, of To Awamutu. Rev Father Curley, of Huntly, officiated. The bride wore a charming frock of silver tissue, draped at the sides and finished with a posy and pearls. The veil was arranged with a headdress of pearls and orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet. Miss Alma Simons, as bridesmaid, wore a frock of mauve and silver tissue, finished with a spray to tone, and carried a bouquet to match her frock. Mr. Eric Geary, of Tauranga, acted as best man. After the ceremony the guests attended the reception at Toorak Chambers, where the usual toasts were honoured. Amid showers of confetti the young couple left by car on their weddly trip for Rotorua and Auckland. future home will be at Te Awamutu. PURDY—CURSON For her wedding at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Kliyber Pass, on Monday evening, Christine Curson, the eldest daughter of Mrs. J. Holden, of Mont le Grande Road. Mount Eden, chose a charming gown of embossed cream satin, gracefully fashioned on straight lines. Her veil of filmiest brussels lace was attractively caught with a circlet of orange blossoms, and fell in the form of a train over her dainty frock The bridal bouquet was of cream flowers and fern. The bridegroom was Mr. Harry Purdy, eldest son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Purdy, of Reimers Avenue, Mount Albert, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Gordon Bell. Miss Lillian Curson attended as chief bridesmaid, wearing a charming frock ot crocus mauve taffetas, made with a slim Victorian bodice and a bouffant skirt. Her cap was a quaint little affair of tulle and she carried a matching bouquet. Two other maids attended, the Misses Esme Curson and Lila Hayden, who wore frocks of opalescent green and palo wallflower taffeta respectively, with tulle caps and bouquets to tone. Little Phyllis Curson, a niece of the bride, was sweetly pretty in her flower girl’s frock of apricot taffeta, with a tiny Dutch cap to tone and a pretty posj' of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Edward Purdy as best man, and Messrs. Herbert Curson and Arthur Chapman as groomsmen. Mr. Trevor Sparling presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Holly Tea Rooms, where Mrs. Holden received the guests, wearing an attractive gown of embossed cyclamen georgette, with panels of i crepe de chine and a hat to match. Among the many guests were: Mrs. Worthington, aunt of the bride, wearing navy crepe de chine trimmed with mauve. Mrs. S. Kirby, in ashes of roses crepe de chine. Mrs. Kirby, floral trimmed gown o: beige satin. Mrs. F. Kirby, dull rose frock of creptj de chine. Mrs. Reardon, gown of Parma violei ! marocain with hat to match. Mrs. W. Curson. pastel pink georgette I and gold lace. Mrs. Dryland, gown of black silk crepe Mrs. Geelian, rose pink frock of geor- ' gette. Mrs. isherwood, ensemble of reseda green repp. Mrs. Manning, rose blush suit of sedan cloth and hat to tone. Mrs. Paddock, frock of opal blue taffetas. Mrs. Holbrook, French grey crepe de chine frock with blue trimming. Mrs. Pike, petunia trimmed frock of black romaine. Miss B. Dryland, wisteria mauve frock of crepe de chine.
