SPLIT AT NANKING NATIONALIST FORCES CRUMBLE By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright SHANGHAI, Monday. - Practically all the members of the Nanking Government have resigned, following the example of General Chiang Kai-shek, whose sudden return to Shanghai and departure for Ningpo was the outcome of a stormy conference of the Nanking military chiefs, in which Chiang was openly defied by his erstwhile most trusted aides. They refused to fight further, unless arrears in wages were paid to themselves. —A. and N.Z.
