KAUR! TIMBERS FIRMER MINING BRIGHTER A brighter tone is recorded in several sections on the ’Change. Mining shows signs of increased activity. Alburnias have improved, while sales of Waiotahi (con.) continue to be put through at elghtpence. Banks are firm, and in steady demand. Auckland Amusement Park shares have improved slightly, to see buyers at 11s 6d. Coals continue strong in tone, with firm buyers for most shares. Kauri Timbers drew buyers at £1 4s 6d this morning. WALCHEREN DUE.— Due at Auckland to-night or early to-morrow morning from Montreal, the Dutch steamer Walcheren will later berth at Prince’s \\ harf to unload the local portion of her cargo, under the auspices of the Mew Zealand Shipping Company. The Walcheren will afterwards proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Austraya to complete discharge.
