OLD BOYS’ SURPRISE AT WHANGAREI
HIKURANGI GOES DOWN Two senior Rugby matches were played at Kensington Park, Whangarei, on Saturday, that between Old Boys and Hikurangi occupying No. 1 ground. Old Boys performed the unexpected by completely drubbing the representatives of the mining town by 11 points to 3, after a game in which they outclassed their doughty opponents in every department of play. Waterman and Brunnette, the Old Boys were in great form, the former scormg one try and the latter two. Abbot converted the last try. Sherriff, Aim and Cotton in the forwards division all played up to representative form. For Hikurangi, Cunningham scored a try from an opening made by Findlay, who was also well up to his rep. form as a winger.
