BUILDING IN ONEHUNGA

Since the last meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council, held a fortnight ago, 16 permits were issued for the erection of new buildings and alterations to existing structures. The building inspector reported that during the month of July seven permits wore granted for new buildings, involving an expenditure of £5,465; and for alterations and additions to five dwellings and 19 other buildings, at an estimated cost of £1,589. At last night’s meeting of the Council, the Mayor, Mr. W. Coldicutt, remarked upon the highly satisfactory state of the building, and allied trades in the district, despite the lack of work and trade in other directions.
