CASUALTY LIST
Through falling heavily on his head early in the second half of the League match against Newton at Victoria Park on Saturday, an Athletic Club player, H. Avery, of 4S Hepburn Street, Ponsonby, was taken to the Auckland Hospital, with concussion of the brain. He is reported to-day to be progressing favourably.
A third grade Papatoetoe hockey player, F. E. Carr, was injured during the n%itc-h with Sommerville on Saturday. . After receiving medical attention he was able to proceed home. Both cases were attended to by the St. John Ambulance.
O. R. Morgan, who fell while playing Rugby football for Hamilton High School against the Marist team, has been admitted to the Waikato Hospital suffering from a fractured collarbone.
While playing football at Frankton a railway porter, William Jago, was injured in the neck. He was admitted to the Waikato Hospital.
N.Z. Wrestling Title.—Two brothers contested the final of the New Zealand amateur heavyweight wrestling championship at Raetihi on Friday night, Dave Scarrow defeating Alec Scarrow by one fall after an extra round had been ordered. Baynes, the previous champion, was unable to defend his title, owing to dislocating his shoulder at football.
