EUCHRE AND “500”
TOURNAMENT AT AVONDALE The “500” tournament conducted by the Avondale Fire Brigade concludes this evening. Last week’s winners were:—Ladies, Mrs. Cole, 1; Mrs. Jones. 2. Gents., Mr. Porter, 1; Mr. Cole, 2. Prizes for the tournament will ke presented on the 29th _ inst, the date selected for the commencement of the second tournament. At the Mission Hall during the week the Eden branch of the Labour Party held another of its successful euchre tournaments. The winners were Mrs. Wiggs and Mr. Shearer.
