Mrs. Robert A. Laidlaw, of Herne Bay, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Aorangi from a holiday trip to America. She was accompanied by her mother and her sister. Professor and Mrs. Algie left for the South by the Limited last evening. At the Grand Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. G. Smith of Christchurch. Guests at the Hotel Cargen include Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Trube of New York. Mr. and Mrs. S. Y. Buller from London are at the Star Hotel. At the Central Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. M. Neville, from Marlborough. Visitors from overseas at the Central Hotel include Mr and Mrs. T. 11. Williams from Sydney. * * * At the Grand Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. J. Pullar of Dumblone, England. Mr. and Mr. Edgar Jones of Timaru are among the guets at the Hotel Cargen. At the Star Hotel are Air. and Mrs. T. E. Jeffcote of Wanganui. * * * Dr. and Mrs. E. V. Wilcox of Washington are among those at the Hotel Cargen. * * * Guests at the Grand Hotel include Mr. and Mrs. W. Duncan of Kuanui. * * * Dr. and Mrs. Richmond Hooper of Palmerston North are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Harris and Mr. Harris, junr., of Whangarei are at the Royal Hotel. Among those staying at the Hotel Cargen are Mr. and Mrs. C. Ferrier of Christchurch. * a-. # i Visitors from overseas staying at tne Hotel Cargen include Mr. and Mrs. R. Damon of Honolulu. Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Clrapelle of Wellington are at the Hotel Cargen. Among those at the Hotel Cargen from the South are Mr. and Mrs. Linton C. Gardiner of Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. D. Wilkinson, of Invercargill, are among the guests at the Commercial Hotel. Mrs. Harold Anderson, of Shanghai, China, is visiting Auckland, and will give an address this afternoon at the Lyceum Club. She was Miss Ella McNeil, for ten years secretary of the Shanghai Y.W.C.A. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coward, of Glenside Flats, left on Friday by the Ulimaroa for Sydney on an extended tour. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Percy Nicholls, of Christchurch, are visiting Auckland, and are among the guests at Ventnor. They leave for Australia next month. * * * Mrs. de la Mare has taken up her residence in Burwood Crescent, Remuera. * * * Miss M. E. Alison and Miss S. Martin returned by the Aorangi from a visit to Honolulu. * * * Mrs. John Murphy, of Wellington, is staying with her mother, Mrs. H. Swallow, St. George’s Bay Road, Parnell. * * * Mrs. de Salis left by the Tofua on a visit to the Islands. * * * \ Miss Edith Norrish, of Remuera, has j now taken up her residence in Hamilton. * * * Miss Bessie Loy, of the Wellington ■ Training College, is at the Hotel Stonehurst. * * * Mrs. Robert Rose is sailing by the Aorangi for Sydney and will later go I to England, via the East. Mrs. and her sister, Miss Logan, Dunedin, are visiting Auckland ;.nd are staying at Braeburn. Mrs. E. B. Fraser, Waiatarua Road, Remuera, leaves to-day by the Aorangi to join her husband in Sydney, where they intend to reside in future. * * * Miss Eleanor Tylee, who has been the guest of Mrs. Trevor Thomson, Takutai Street, Parnell, for the past month, is returning to her home in Pahiatua next week. • * * Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Barnett, of hristcliurch, are staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. and Mrs. Hope Gibbons, of Wananui, left by the Tofua on Saturday >r a trip to the Islands. Mr. Pickering, of Napier, who has eon in Auckland attending the Gas Companies’ Conference, left for home by motor on Saturday. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter.
