CYCLIST INJURED
STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR A cyclist named Frederick Smythe, aged 17, residing at No 2 Dudley Street, Ponsonby, was knocked over by a motor-car on Great South Road, Papatoetoe, yesterday and received a broken collar-bone, shock and concussion The car was driven by Mr. Percy Alfred Richards, manager of the Dunlop Rubber Company, Auckland. While driving toward Otahuhu in company with two other cyclists the front wheel of the injured youth’s cycle fouled one of the leading cycles, causing them to swerve in front of the car. Prompt action by Mr. Richards averted serious injuries. The injured youth "was attended by Dr. Vallentine and ordered to hospital.
