POLICE OFFICER HONOURED

PRESENTATION BY MAYOR Residents of Mount Eden gathered in Carter Bros.’ garage last evening to bid farewell to Constable D. Ryan, who has been transferred to Wellsford. “Constable Ryan has kept law and order in Mount Eden for 13 years and has acted fearlessly and with forbearance during his long term as constable of the district,” said the Mayor of Mt. Eden, Mr. E. H. Potter, in presenting Constable Ryan with a fountain pen on behalf of the residents. Mrs Ryan was the recipient of a wallet of notes from the women of Mt. Eden. Mr. T. W. Brown, who presided, also spoke in eulogistic terms of Constable Ryan’s services to the district.
