For Lenin’s Crown
STALIN AND TROTZKY OPPOSED By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Thursday. The most reliable interpretation of recent events in Aloscow has probably been transmitted by the correspondent of the “Berliner Tageblatt.” The correspondent says the fight for Lenin’s crown will continue for the present inside the Communist Party, but it will be fought on much more equal terms. The side led by Trotzky has been heartened by recent reinforcements, and that of Stalin has been correspondingly weakened. Trotzky is undoubtedly the abler man of the two, but Stalin, who is more moderate, will make a stronger appeal to the masses when the time comes, as undoubtedly it will, for the conflict to be carried on outside the party.—A. and N.Z.
