NEW ZEALAND AT HOME COMMISSIONER’S DAUGHTER ENTERTAINS
The High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, and Mrs. Eric Stevens, his daughter, who has just recently arrived in England, received nearly 200 guests at the second New Zealand “At Home,” held"in the library of the New Zealand Government Offices in London. The reception was most successful, and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. Lady parr, who is still far from strong, was unable to be present, but her daughter ably filled her place. Dressed in a becoming costume of navy .blue, crepe de chine red georgette, embroidered in navy blue and gold, and a navy blue hat, Mrs. Stevens looked a charming hostess, and the easy friendliness with which both she and her father welcomed the guests put everybody a ttheir ease. The library, which is in itself a very handsome room, was' decorated with great baskets of hydrangeas, while on the refreshment tables there were pink and white carnations.
