PROFITS FROM “CROOKS”
STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP INCREASES r PHE carnival play, "Crooks, Ltd.," produced by the Auckland University students yielded a profit of £206. This was one of the healthy student activities mentioned at the annual meeting of the Auckland University College Students’ Association held last night. The annual report stated that the membership was now 1,210, an increase of 185 over last year. The balance sheet showed that income exceeded expenditure by £207. Expenditure on the Easter tournament was £336, against which were £SB receipts from the tournament ball. The loss on the tournament was £l2O. and on the graduation ball £7O. Half the proceeds from the carnival play were allocated to the building fund and half to a carnival reserve fund. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. B. Thompson; vicepresidents, Miss M. B. Forde and Mr. E. F. Thompson; secretary, Mr. N. S. Alexander: treasurer, Mr. A. P. Postlewaite; “Kiwi” editor, Mr. S. Black: tournament delegates, Messrs. A. J. Miller and A. B. Thompson: executive. Misses J. B. Mueller, L. M. Cranwell and D. E. Neely, and Messrs. J. N. Wilson, T. C. Hay. L. H. Briggs, G. L. McLeod and K. A. North.
