The enthusiasm which Germany is displaying in her bid to be prominent in Transatlantic flying is evidenced by the proposa l of the Hamburg-Am erica Steamship Line to inaugurate an airship service to New York. The company has placed an order for what will be the largest and most powerful flying-boat in the world. This is to be delivered in December. The new dirigible is to be /equipped with 10 motors, each of 1,000 horsepower. It will carry 170 passengers and their luggage.—A. and N.Z.
