NOT FIT TO DRIVE

MOTORIST FINED £25 TOO MANY DRINKS Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The magistrate’s court was engaged yesterday in hearing a charge against the motorist, Maclver, who collided with a stationary tram. Evidence went to show that though not sufficiently intoxicated to be arrested for drunkenness Mclver was not in a fit state to drive a car. For the defence it was contended that the accident was due to the visibility being bad owing to the state of the weather. The magistrate said that he was satisfied that defendant was not in a fit state to drive a car and fined him £25, and £2 for driving without a licence.
