"I'LL SWING FOR YOU”

LANDLORD’S FEAR DIFFICULT TENANT FINED “I’ll knock your head off—l’ll swing for you.” When Michael Lunney used this language to his landlord yesterday the landlord sent for assistance, and the result was Lunney’s appearance at the Police Court to-day, where he was charged with assaulting Harold Horton. The landlord said that Lunney had threatened to “do for him,” and he was frightened that the threat might be carried out. Horton, another man who accompanied Lunney to the police station, said that accused had crushed at him and caught him by the throat. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., diagnosed drink as' the trouble, and ordered Lunney to become subject to a prohibition order. For the assault he was fined 40s, and the magistrate suggested that he should leave his present habitation.
