TOFUA SAILS SATU RDAY.— The Union Company advises that the Island passenger steamer Tofua leaves Auckland at 11 a.m. next Saturday on another trip to Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
WHANGAPE FOR NEWCASTLE. —To load again for Auckland the Union Company are dispatching the collier Whangape at noon to-morrow. On completion of her discharge here the vessel will undergo her annual overhaul and survey at this port. KAIWARRA SAILS MONDAY.— On completion of her annual overhaul and survey at Auckland the Union Company are despatching the cargo steamer Ivaiwarra next Monday for Onerahi, where she will load for Sydney and Newcastle. KAITOKE AT N EWCASTLE.—Advice received by the Union Company states that the cargo steamer Kaitoke arrived at Newcastle yesterday from Auckland. She loads at Newcastle and completes at Sydney for Suva and Auckland and is expected to clear Suva on August 19. SYDNEY STEAMERS.— Due at Sydney to-day from Auckland, the Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Maheno leaves next Friday for Wellington, while the pas-
senger steamer Marama, which is also due at Sydney to-day from Wellington. sails next Friday for Auckland. Both vessels are due at their New Zealand ports next Tuesday morning. MELBOURNE SERVICE. The Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Manuka is due at Wellington to-night from Melbourne direct and leaves on Thursday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne.
RUAHINE FROM HOME.— From London via Southampton and Panama the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine is due at Auckland on Thursday. The vessel has passengers for disembarkation at Auckland and cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. MARGARET W. AT SYDNEY.— The four-masted auxiliary schooner Margaret W reached Sydney yesterday after a passage of 13 days from Whangape. The vessel underwent a lengthy overhaul at Auckland and then proceeded to Whangape. where she loaded a full cargo of timber. After she completed loading she was bar-bound for 28 days before she could cross the Whangape Bar.
THE CAN DIAN PROSPECTOR.— Up till 1 p.m. to-day the local office of the Canadian Government Line had received no radio from the Canadian Prospector. The vessel, which is en route from Montreal to Auckland is expected any time now. DIOMEDE ON TU ES DAY.—H.M.S. Diomede is reported to have left Suva yesterday for Nukualofa, in continuation of her cruise in the South Seas. From Tonga the Diomede will come to Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday afternoon. The following morning she will go into dock. NUCULA ALONGSIDE SHEERLEGS.—The Admiralty oil tanker Nucula, which arrived last week from San Pedro and anchored in the stream, went alongside Sherelegs wharf this morning to discharge a quantity of her cargo into the Naval Department’s storage tanks at Devon port. MATATUA TO COMPLETE.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matatua arrived at Napier this morning from Gisborne and leaves to-morrow night for Auckland, where she is due on Friday to complete her loading. She is scheduled to sail finally from here on August 16 for Antwerp and London, via Cape Horn. L. D. Nathan and Company will be the local agents. CAMBRIDGE’S MOVEMENTS. New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Cambridge leaves Port Chalmers to-day for Lyttelton, thence New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne. Tokomaru Bay and Auckland, to load for America and England. She is expected to arrive here on August 30 and is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on September 3. THE BARON RUTHVEN.-The Hogarth Shipping Company’s steamer Baron Ruthven arrived at Wellington yesterday, en route from Fremantle to Callao. The vessel arrived at Auckland on May 7 and discharged a cargo of sugar at Chelsea. From there she went to Westport for bunkers, and then to the Islands to load phosphates for Australia. She loaded a cargo of wheat at Fremantle, which is to be discharged at Callao. THE CANADIAN SEIGNEUR—The Canadian Government Merchant Marine steamer, Canadian Seigneur, arrived back at Auckland early this morning from the South to complete loading before sailing on the homeward trip. The vessel arrived at Auckland on July 11 with a cargo of general merchandise from Montreal. Owing to repairs to a propellor-blade damaged during the voyage taking a considerable time, the Canadian Signeur did not leave for the South until July 18. The local office of the Canadian Government Line expects to dispatch her this evening for New York. Boston and Montreal. ULIMAROA IN PORT.—After a very fine weather passage, the Huddart- , Parker Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa arrived at Auckland at 6 o’clock this morning and berthed about an hour later at Prince’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The vessel left Sydney at noon on Friday last and a\ r eraged 14 6 knots for the trip across the Tasman. In order to avoid arriving in port in the early hours of the morning she was forced to reduce her speed to 9 knots from noon yesterday. Since the Ulimaroa was here last she has undergone an extensive overhaul and survey at Sydney. Although no structural alteration were made, the vessel was thoroughly overhauled from stem to stern. She laid up on June 4 and resumed running again on July 22, malting a trip to Wellington before coming here. Part of her cargo this morning consisted of eight Merino rams for transhipment to Monte Video, and two racehorses. following pasengers arrived by the Ulimaroa: •Saloon: Mr. G.
