MAN JUMPS OVERBOARD

BODY RECOVERED (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. On Sunday night, while the coastal steamer Taniwha was between Shortland and Turua, on the Thames River, on her journey from Auckland to Paeroa, a man named Frederick William Buttler jumped overboard and was drowned. He left a letter in his cabin addressed to the captain of the steamer, indicating that he Vas going to jump overboard. Early this morning a body was

found on Tapu Beach, 15 miles north of Thames, which is believed to be that of Buttler. He lived at Waihi, where at one time he was an engineer to the borough council.
