PAPAKURA COMPETITIONS The final round for the P. J. Parkes Trophy was played on Saturday. The three rounds resulted in a win for G. A. Smith. The contest for Mr. IT. R. McLennan’s trophy for those with a handicap of over 20, was very close and resulted in a win for E. I. J. Busing, with a net score of 82. The next best cards returned were:—R. Spencer, 83; Gilmore, 84; and .Naylor, 85. Akarana Club The final of the Wallace Cup competition was played by members of the Akarana Golf Club on Saturday, and resulted in a win for C. Bailey, with a net score of 133 for two rounds. A bogey competition will be cplayed next Saturday. Entries will close with the secretary to-morrow. Akarana Ladies Following is the draw for the stroke competition for Mr. Wiseman’s trophy to be played by members of the Akarana Ladies’ Golf Club to-morrow, commencing at 11 o’clock:—Mrs. Beattie v. Mrs. Dunne; Miss Mumford v. Mrs. Ellis; Mrs. Symes v. Airs. Grant; Mrs. Mueller v. Airs. Gilmore; Miss J. Tapper v. Miss Darrach; Mrs. Cox v. Miss Ballantyne; Miss Bygate v. Miss Batty. Glendowie Club The various club competitions were advanced a further stage by members of the Glendowie Golf Club during the week-end. In the third round of the A championship N. Ching defeated C. Woods, 5 and 3; R. Edmonds, a second season player, defeated L. Goodwin, last year’s runnerup to C. Allcott, 3 and 2; F. Trice defeated C. N. Mockin, 3 and 2. In the junior championship the replay of the tie between C. Biernacki and H. Wright resulted in an easy win for the former by 8 and 5. J. Hall defeated W. Newsham, 2 and 1, and will meet Biernacki in the semi-final. R. Garrard defeated J. D. Willis 3 and 1, and will meet Dr. Horton in the semi-final. In the match for the captain’s prize R. Garrard defeated C. Garrard, 1 up, and R. Kissling beat A. O. Horspool, 5 and 4. The semi-finals will be played by Nicholls and N. Hockin in the one half of the draw, and by R. Garrard and R, Kissling in the other. Otahuhu Club The final of the F. S. Ballin Cup competition played by members of the Ota-

huhu Golf Club resulted in a win for J. B. Simpson, 8, who defeated C. Rosewarne, 16, 7 and 6. The match against Maungakiekie, to have been played next Saturday, has been postponed. Short, 5 and 4; G. Dawson beat R. M. Todd, 1 up; R. M. Mahoney forfeited to J. B. Birkmyer. E. Bunkall and W. A. Todd have yet to play.
