The Rev. Dr. Laws left for the South by the Limited last evening. Mr. O. Nicholson returned to Auckland this morning from Wellington. The Hon. G. J. Garland, M.L.C., arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., Mr. W. E. Parry, M.P., and Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., returned to Auckland this morning from Wellington for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Teagle and Mr. and Mrs. Mac Neil left for the South by the Limited last evening. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, is in a private hospital in Wellington for observation and treatment in connection with eye trouble. He will probably be there for a fortnight. Mr. V. D. J. Grahame has, on the motion of Mr. N. P. Wyatt, been admitted by Mr. Justice Herdman as a barrister of the Supreem Court. Mr. George Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, left for Ohakune yesterday evening to attend a meeting of the special committee of the Tongariro National Park Board to consider the Ohakune track scheme. Sir Benjamin Fuller, who has been staying at the Grand Hotel, loi* for the South by car this morning. He was accompanied by Mr. A. Fuller. They will probably stay in Wellington for a week before returning to Auckland. Mr. W. S. O’Donnell, secretary of the Auckland A. and P. Association, was authorised yesterday afternoon to attend the conference of secretaries at the Palmerston North Winter Show next June.
