If an Australian girl can do it surely a New Zealander can. “Miss New Zealand, 1927,” finalists will read the following note from New York to THE SUN with interest:— “Phillis Gibbs, heralded as the most beautiful girl either in Australia or New Zealand, has arrived in Hollywood to begin screen work at the De Mille studio. “She was the winner in a contest in which 1,200 girls participated. She is blonde, vivacious, and De Mille says she screens marvellously. She will be featured in several of his productions.”
