WOMEN AT GOLF
WHAKATANE V OPOTIKI A team of Whakatane women golfers visited Opotiki on Wednesday and a very interesting l , series of games took place in the morning and afternoon. The scores in the various games are as follows, the Whakatane players being mentioned first in each instance: Singles: Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Sydenham, all square; Mrs. Fraser beat Mrs. Birkmyer, 4 up and 2 to play; Miss Black beat Mrs. Jessop, 2 and 1; Mrs. Sloane lost to Mrs. Cook, 4 up and 3; - Miss Ryde and Mrs. Todd, all square; Miss North lost to Mrs. Davey, (5 and 5; Mrs. Suckling lost to Mrs. Siddall, 6 and 4; Mrs. Bridger lost to Mrs. Carroll, 4 and 3. Opotiki, 2. up. Fopr-Ball Games: Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Frazer beat Mrs. Sydenham and Mrs. Birkmyer, 5 up and 4 to play; Miss Black and Mrs, Sloane betft Mrs. Todd and Mrs. Siddall, 2 and 1;- Miss Ryde and Miss North lost to Mrs. Jessop and Mrs. Cooke, 1 down; Mrs. Suckling and Mrs. Bridger lost to Miss M. Ferguson and Miss Short, 2 and 1. Whakatane and Opotiki all square. At the close of the season the Opotiki women will play a return match at. Whakatane.
