ST. JOHN’S LADIES GUILD
SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL AFTERNOON St. John’s Hall, Great South Road, Papatoetoe, was the scene of a very successful social afternoon on Wednesday, when the Ladies’ Social Guild held their usual monthly afternoon. I Airs. T. H. Roseveare, president, occupied the chair, and there was a record attendance of members and friends. Stalls were erected in the hall, and did good business. Misses Willerton and H. Percy were in charge of the sweets stall, and Mesdames McFarland, Wright and Muir the produce stall. A splendid programme was submitted and met with the full approval of the large audience. The following artists assisted: Miss Kelso, pianoforte solo. Airs. Waddell, song. Aliss L. Roseveare, recitation. Airs. Edmonds, violin solo. Aliss B. Wyllie and Dr. Valentine, vocal duet. Aliss H. Wyllie, solo. St. John’s ladies choir, glee. ATessrs. T. H. and Marshall Roseveace, vocal duet. Airs. AlcCullough and Aliss Daisley, vocal duet. The accompaniments were played by Afesdames R. G. Ross and Bradstreet. An interval in the musical programme was made to enable the ladies of the ! guild to serve a delightful afternoon I tea.
