PRINCE EDWARD

“THE FALSE ALARM” The cast of “The False Alarm,” a Columbia production released by Master Pictures, now showing at the Prince Edward Theatre, is one of the most popular appearing in any picture production at any time. The days when the stars were identified solely with one producing company are a thing of the past, excepting in one or two instances, and players of wide fame and popularity go from one studio to another, as offer lures. The cast in “The False Alarm,” which is a thrilling melodrama with startling fire scenes and a theme of unusual interest, introducing the courage of a coward as a keynote, is headed by Ralph Lewis, Mary Carr,

and Dorothy Revier. Others appearing in the picture are John Harron, George O’Hara, Priscilla Bonner, Maurice Costello, William Franey, Arthur Hoyt and Lillian Leighton. It is said that this production especially glorifies the fire de-

partment of the country, every method of fire-fighting known to exist having been brought into play in making this picture. Ralph Lewis, playing John Casey, was once a fireman. A desperate duel with bull whips, in which, stripped to the waist, Antonio Moreno and Roy D’Arcy slashed at each other with long rawhide lashes, after the fashion of South American plainsmen, is one of the thrills of “The Temptress,” filmed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from the famous Ibanez novel, and which is also to be shown at the Prince Edward Theatre. Greta Garbo and Antonio Moreno head a famous cast in the spectacle, directed at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios by Fred Niblo, as his first production since “Ben-Hur.”
