(From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. Fine but gusty weather was experienced for the opening of the women’s golf tournament yesterday morning In the medal match of 18 holes Miss Given. Maungatapere, was the winner with a score of 103—13 72. The nine-hole bogey match in the afternoon resulted in a tie between Mesdames Clouston and A. H. Crane. 2 up. Mrs. Prime won the putting competition with a score of 16. Rain fell on 19 days in Huntly during July, the total fall being 7.3 inches. Rain fell on 16 days in Morrinsville during July, and the total fall was 5.15 inches.
