COMPENSATION CLAIM
EROSION BY FLOODS A claim was made before the Compensation Court yesterday before Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., Messrs. \V. E. Hale and \V. G. Hayward, by Mrs. Elizabeth A. Scott against the Horahia Drainage Board, Turua, for £IOO damages, alleging that the board, through negligence, had injuriously affected a certain portion of her land, causing it to be eroded by floods. The court found complainant could not succeed, there being no proof that stopbanks had been erected. The value of the land flooded was so infinitesimal that no award could be made. The claim was dismissed, each side to pay their own costs.
