NOT ENOUGH “HEAD”

AVONDALE WATER SUPPLY MT. ROSKILL WANTS CHANGE The pressure of water in the Avondale main is inadequate for fire-fight-ing purposes, in the opinion of the Mount Roskill Road Board. This view was conveyed by that authority to the Avondale Borough Council on Wednesday, with a request that the agreement whereby a supply of water is taken from the main be rescinded, It was asked that Clause 4 of the agreement. Which requires three months’ notice on either side, be waived. The council decided to comply with the request. The Mount Roskill Board intends to get the water from Mount Eden supply when the Avondale Council releases it from the agreement. A better pressure, it is thought, would be obtained from that main.
