CLAIM AGAINST TOWN BOARD SUCCEEDS

SOLICITOR AWARDED £BOO Judgment for £825 and costs was given in favour of Colin Campbell Biernacki (Mr. Richmond) by the Compensation Court this morning in a claim for £1,250 brought by the plaintiff against the Manurewa Town Board (Mr. Luxford). The claim was brought in respect of 10 acres of land situated between Takanini and Papakura which was taken compulsorily by the board for the purpose of establishing a cemetery and sanitary works. Mr. Justice Stringer presided and had associated with him Mr. J. S. Dickson, M.P., for the complainant, and Mr. C. F.-Bennett for the board.
