OHAKUNE NOTES

JOYLAND BALL A successful ball was held on Friday evening in the Railway Hall, by the “Joyland Committee” in aid of the Anglican motor-car fund. The hall was packed. Woodlock’s orchestra supplied the music and the Maori orchestra played an extra. Many novelties were introduced and prizes were given in some of the fancy dances. The innovation of a sit-down supper was greatly appreciated and reflects great credit on the committee and their helpers for their skillful management. The car fund was considerably helped by this ball, some £25 being taken at the door. It is hoped that this fund will be further increased at the succeeding dances, etc., which will take place from month to month.
