Birds of prey fly higher than any other birds. Their eyesight is particularly acute, so that they may have a wide range in seeking for their prey. Vultures and buzzards generally prospect from a height of from a mile to a mile and a-half in the air. They poise above their victim, and drop on it noiselessly.
