CHURCH MEETING

WHANGAREI PRESBYTERY (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. The quarterly meeting of the North Auckland Presbytery opened yesterday, when the retiring Moderator, the Rev. G. W. Lochore, presided over an attendance of 20. Visiting deelgates of the missionary campaign were welcomed to the meeting and associated The Rev. H. J. Ryburn, M.A., of Kaikohe, was elected Moderator for the coming term and took the chair for the balance of the meeting. The finance committee was empowered to act as a budget committee. The matter of mission allocations was referred back to the property and finance committee. It was decided that the presbytery request the New Century Fund to write off the £IOO lent to Hikurangi over 20 years ago, on which neither interest or principal has been paid. The Rev. Geo. Budd wrote informing the presbytery that at a meeting of the Home Mission Committee it had been decided to grant the application for a woman worker in the Bay of Islands charge. The question of visitations was dealt with by the Rev. White. He said that to conduct visitations as in older established presbyteries would involve an unwarranted drain upon the finance. It would be advisable to treat, the charges geographically adjacent at one time
