FIRE ENGINE STRANDED

RUN OUT OF PETROL Proceeding to a fire some weeks ago the Mount Eden fire engine ran out of petrol. Supplies had to be obtained from the station to enable the brigade to get to the fire. The Mount Eden Council last evening went into committee to discuss the report of a committee which had gone into the cause of the stranding of the fire-fighters. A similar incident occurred 14 years ago.
