PETROL PRICES INCREASE
CONFINED TO WELLINGTON The news that service station proprietors in Wellington were increasing the price of petrol by 3d for the first gallon, as from yesterday, was received with great interest by motorists in Auckland.
The reasons given for the increase are purely local, referring mainly to the call on the service proprietors in the suburbs to open their premises at night for customers who require only a single gallon, or even half a gallon.
The trouble seems to be a local one and, although similar conditions have to be put up with here, there is no indication of a similar increase in Auckland.
