WHAU CANAL

MODEL ON VIEW INTERESTED PASSERS-BY It is impossible to get very near the windows of the E. and F. Piano Co.'s premises in Queen Street to-day. The reason is that Mr. David B. Russell's model of the proposed Whau Canal is on view there, and has drawn passers-by like a magnet. The model was on view in the Winter Exhibition, and during that time Mr. Russell obtained thousands of signatures to his petition to have the scheme gone on with. The petition will again be ready for signing tomorrow. and all those who wish the scheme success should fix their names to it.
