HIS MAJESTY’S
“POLLY WITH A PAST” That delightful actress, Miss Renee Kelly, continues to pretend to an unsavoury “past” at His Majesty’s, to the immense gratification of her audiences. On Saturday night a crowded house laughed and sympathised with her every mood. She might have had a dozen pasts, even more hectic than that of the French adventuress she created, but none the less would her audience have loved her. Though the role of Polly is so demanding, the comedy provides plenty of scope for various other characters, and there is outstanding merit in the party of Rex Van Zile (Ronald Ward), Mrs. Van Zile (Margaret Hamer), Mrs. Davis (Emma Temple), Harry Richardson (Jack Dunne), Clay Collum (Pirie Bush), Stiles (Jackson Wilcox). Commodore Barker (Reginald Wylecham), and Prentice Van Zile (Hylton Allen). “Polly With a Past” will be presented again to-night and to-mor-row night, and on Wednesday night this bright comedy combination will stage, “The Last of Mrs Cheyney” for a season of five nights.
