GIRL-THIEVES ROB BASKETBALL PLAYERS

AN “AMUSEMENT FUND” Basketball enthusiasts have been unwilling subscribers to the “amusement fund” of three girls, all about 16 years old, who came before the Children's Court to-day. The basketball players used to leave their belongings in the drill hall and the Normal School. The three thieves would go through the clothes and would usually make a big enough haul to go to the pictures and buy chocolates. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., pleaded with the culprits not to be so “low-down and petty.” “If you start out on a life of crime you're going to have a very miserable existence,” he said. Two of the girls were admonished and discharged and one was placed under supervision.
